Dig It Once, Dig It Right

Excavation around Franklin, Brentwood, Spring Hill and across Williamson County means working in rolling ground, tight lots and dirt that turns to rock without warning. We dig footers and basements, cut and open trenches for utilities and drainage, shape ponds, dig out failed driveways and old slabs, and load out the spoil in our own dump trucks — one crew from the first bucket to the last load.

The machines match the site: compact excavators for backyards and tight access, bigger iron for basements, ponds and site work. And because the operation has been digging Middle Tennessee dirt since 1996, the quote you get reflects what is actually in the ground here — clay that pumps when it is wet, and limestone that shows up shallow right when you do not want it.

Foundation and Structure Digs

Footers and basements are precision work: dig to the plan, hold the lines and depths the builder needs, and leave walls the concrete crew can form against. We dig to spec, bench where the ground calls for it, and coordinate the haul-off so the site is not buried in spoil when the forms show up.

Tear-outs run the same way in reverse — old driveways, patios, slabs and small structures broken out, loaded and gone. Because the trucks are ours, demolition debris does not sit in a pile waiting on a hauler; it leaves as the machine loads it.

Water, Utilities and Ponds

Trenching is half of what an excavator does around here: water and electric runs to new shops and barns, French drains and drainage mains for wet yards, and downspout tie-outs that finally give roof water somewhere to go. We cut clean trenches, bed them right, and put the ground back so you cannot tell where the line runs.

Pond work is its own craft. We dig and shape ponds with banks that hold, spillways that handle a Tennessee downpour, and clay worked to seal. If the dirt coming out has somewhere to be — a pad, a low spot, a berm — we put it to work instead of hauling it, which saves real money on both ends.

Dug in Sequence With Everything Else

Excavation rarely travels alone. It follows clearing, runs alongside grading, and feeds the trucks. Hiring the crew that does all of it means the sequence just happens: clear Monday, dig Tuesday, grade Thursday, gone Friday — instead of three contractors pointing at each other's schedules.

That is the practical reason to call us first even when the dig is the only piece you know you need. The walk-through is free, and if the job is bigger or smaller than you thought, you will hear that straight before anyone mobilizes a machine.

How We Work

How a Job With E&S Runs

From the first walk of the property to the final one, here is exactly how it goes.

1

Walk the Property

We come out and walk the ground with you: what is growing, where the water goes, what the dirt is hiding, and what you actually want the property to become.

2

Straight Quote

You get a free written quote with a real timeline. It names what happens to stumps, spoil and debris, and it flags honest risks like shallow rock before any machine rolls.

3

We Do the Work

The equipment shows up when we said it would — machines and trucks both ours. We clear, dig, grade and haul to the plan, and you hear about anything unexpected immediately.

4

Final Walk-Through

We walk the finished ground together. Grades checked, debris gone, surface left seed-ready or build-ready as the plan called for. Done means you say it is done.

Call (615) 599-7550

What size excavation jobs do you take?
From a backyard trench to a full basement. Compact machines handle tight-access residential work; bigger excavators handle basements, ponds and site cuts. If a job is genuinely outside what we run, we will tell you on the first call.
What happens if you hit rock?
Around Williamson County, sometimes we do — limestone runs shallow in places. We read the ground on the walk-through and quote with that risk in the open. If rock shows up mid-dig, you hear about it immediately with options and numbers, not on the invoice.
Do you haul away the dirt you dig out?
Yes. We run our own dump trucks, so spoil gets loaded and hauled as we dig — or put to work on site as fill if the plan has a place for it. Either way the site does not end up buried in dirt piles.
Can you dig in a tight backyard without wrecking the lawn?
Compact excavators are built for exactly that, and we plan the access route before the machine arrives. There is honest ground disturbance on any dig, but we keep the footprint tight and put the surface back right — regraded and ready for seed.
Do you dig ponds?
Yes — dug, shaped and sealed, with banks and a spillway built to hold up. Pond jobs get a longer conversation on the walk-through because the dirt and the water source decide what is possible on your ground.
